ZUCCHINI BOATS 

Hey guys!

Today’s post is all about food. I experimented with a lot of different ingredients,some turned into disaster while some, like this one, are a complete win. I present to you – zucchini boats .

Današnji se post vrti oko hrane. Eksperimentirala  sam s mnogo različitih sastojaka, neki su se pretvorili u katastrofu, a neki ,poput ovoga, su zagarantiran uspjeh. Predstavljam Vam – brodiće od tikvice .

The ingredients.

INGREDIENTS :

12 oz of ground beef
2 cups of tomato sauce
2 cups of champignon mushrooms
1 medium-sized white onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 tablespoon of parsley
3 small to medium-sized green zucchini
2 eggs
1 cup of cheese ( optional )
Salt
Pepper

SASTOJCI :

300 grama mljevenog mesa
4 dcl pelata  ( konzerviranih rajčica )
120 grama šampinjona
1 luk srednje veličine
2 češnja češnjaka
1 žlica peršina
3 zelene tikvice male do srednje veličine
2 jaja
50 grama sira ( po želji )
Sol
Papar

Zucchini filling.

The first thing you want to do is preheat your oven to 375°F. Now it’s time to prepare everything. First you want to chop up your onion,parsley,garlic and your mushrooms. I used large champignons that were canned. However,if you are using fresh mushrooms,make sure you use 3 cups because they will shrink. You can also substitute champignons with another type of mushrooms,just make sure they are not too strong because you don’t want them to overpower everything else.

Najprije zagrijte pećnicu na 190°C. Sad je vrijeme da sve pripremite.Usitnite luk,češnjak,peršin i gljive. Ja sam koristila velike,konzervirane šampinjone. No,ako koristite svježe gljive,stavite barem 180 grama jer će se prilikom kuhanja znatno smanjiti. Šampinjone možete zamijeniti drugom vrstom gljiva,ali pazite da ne koristite previše snaže i aromatične gljive kako ne bi nadjačale ostale sastojke.

Zucchini filling.

Heat your pan over medium high heat and add in your ground beef. Add pepper and salt to taste and cook until it’s no longer pink. Add in the chopped onion,garlic,parsley and mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes , stirring occasionally. Leave it aside to cool and prepare your zucchini boats. Cut the ends of each zucchini,peel the skin (you can leave the skin on but I prefer it off),cut them into halves and carve the middle out. You should have 6 boats. Boil some water,put your zucchini boats in it and cook for 3 minutes. This will soften them so they can cook evenly. After you’ve prepared your zucchini,add the tomato sauce to the filling.

Zagrijte tavu na srednjoj temperaturi i dodajte mljeveno meso. Dodajte sol i papar prema ukusu i pržite meso dok ne izgubi rozu boju. Dodajte usitnjeni luk,češnjak,peršin i gljive te pržite sve skupa još 5 minuta, povremeno miješajući. Ostavite to sa strane da se ohladi i pripremite tikvice. Odrežite krajeve na svakoj tikvici, očistite koru (po želji),prepolovite svaku tikvicu te izdubite sredinu. Trebali biste imati 6 brodića. Stavite vodu da zavrije,ubacite tikvice i kuhajte 3 minute. Ovo će omekšati tikvice da se ravnomjerno ispeku. Nakon što ste pripremili tikvice,u meso i povrće dodajte konzerviranu rajčicu.

Stuffed zucchini : ground beef and mushrooms.

Take a baking sheet and place your zucchini in there. Sprinkle some salt and pepper over zucchini and evenly fill them. Put them in the oven.

Uzmite pleh i posložite tikvice unutra. Dodatno posolite i popaprite tikvice te ih ravnomjerno napunite. Stavite ih u pećnicu.

Stuffed zucchini recipe.

After 10 minutes in the oven,take them out. Beat the two eggs and distribute them evenly over zucchini boats. Now is the time to add the cheese if you want. Sprinkle it on top,after you’ve poured  the eggs over zucchini. I don’t eat dairy so I left out this step. Put them back in the oven for 6-8 more minutes.

Izvadite ih nakon 10 minuta u pećnici. Stucite dva jaja i ravnomjerno polijte po tikvicama. Sada dodajte sir na vrh ako želite. Ja ne jedem mliječne proizvode stoga redovito preskočim ovaj korak. Vratite ih u pećnicu na dodatnih 6-8 minuta.

Stuffed zucchini recipe.

Yum! Enjoy these flavorful,rich zucchini boats. Each boat has approximately 160 calories! Isn’t that great? If you don’t like the zucchini,substitute it with bell peppers but skip the blanching part. If you don’t eat meat,cook some whole grain rice and mix with black beans to substitute the meat. That’s it for today,I hope you like these!

Njam! Uživajte u ovim bogatim brodićima prepunim okusima. Svaki brodić ima otprilike 160 kalorija! Zar to nije super? Ako ne volite tikvicu,zamijenite ju paprikom,ali preskočite blanširanje. Ako ne jedete meso, s kuhajte integralnu rižu te ju pomiješati s crnim grahom kako bi nadomjestili meso. To je sve za danas,nadam se da Vam se sviđa ovaj recept!
